Allergies In Dogs

Dog food allergies, Dog skin allergies.

Lots of people out there have dogs...

Who they’ve been told are “allergic” to certain pet foods, including some that are present in our cat and dog food recipes. Literally, hundreds have told me that their vet or an allergy “specialist” told them that their pet was allergic to corn, wheat, rice, or even meat. Partly I find it funny, considering that I don't know of any nature specialist who has found foxes or badgers running around with meat and grain allergies. However, there is a very good answer to these problems -- and it isn't lamb and rice.

Lamb and rice is what a conventional vet ...

Will put a dog on when they think they have a dog food allergy problem. That's because lamb and rice are basically the two most bland and easy-to-digest foods out there. It’s an avoidance solution where the dog is limited to only a couple of things to eat for the rest of its life. The holistic view of course is to look at dog food allergies and find out why they're there. That’s where natural dog food comes in.

From what we know, dogs, and some cats, ...

Typically, do not naturally produce the correct enzymes to break down certain foods, like wheat and corn. When you take a feed-quality source of wheat and corn, and then cook and process the heck out of it -- the naturally-occurring enzymes in the corn and wheat are destroyed, leaving the dog’s digestive system on its own to attempt to break those foods down. Without that natural enzyme, a lot of dogs will have a problem trying to do this, which typically manifests itself with dry skin, sores, diarrhea, and other problems resulting from dog food allergies. However, if you feed human-quality grains found in human-grade dog food, and you leave them raw, the enzyme will remain intact, and there will be no dog food allergies associated with the corn and wheat. That’s why we’ve been offering a money-back guarantee to people who claim their dogs have allergies. In fact, one allergy institute in Texas has been referring all of their clients to Sojos who have tested for high wheat and corn dog food allergies. I think they’re under the impression that Sojos food doesn’t have wheat and corn in it, because every time someone calls from there, they say, ‘we’ve been told you have a wheat and corn-free pet food.’ We don’t of course, but they keep referring their clients, because of the great results.

The bottom line is Dawgs wouldn’t put wheat and corn...

In our food, if we didn’t think that they were important to our cat and dog food recipes. It makes the pet food a tougher sell for folks with problems associated with dog food allergies, but once people understand the role of enzymes in the allergy problem, and see the great results their pets have on our natural dog food, we find that everyone is much happier and better informed. Keep in mind that if you're someone who is staunchly against the feeding of wheat & corn, consider other mixes. Keep in mind that our treats, though a great all-natural dog treats, do contain cooked wheat and corn.
